Surgery Group of Grand Island Moves to New Location

March 25, 2008

Surgery Group of Grand Island sites better patient access to a full range of healthcare services as a major benefit when it relocates to 820 North Alpha Street in Grand Island later this month.

The new location more than doubles the practice's space, with 14 examination rooms as compared to the previous six. Patients will also enjoy more convenient parking and noticeably less time spent waiting for services.

"We are pleased to provide a new and expanded environment for our patients," said Dr. Daniel Cronk, who helped found the practice more than 30 years ago. "We look forward to welcoming current and new patients to our expanded medical clinic."

Surgery Group performs a wide range of laparoscopic surgical procedures, including appendectomies, gallbladder removal, gastric bypass, colon resection, hernia repair, and more. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is often less painful, with quicker recovery time and less risk for infection than traditional open surgical methods. The practice also conducts colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedures, and specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast disease.

Laparoscopy, surgery performed utilizing a camera and small incisions, has altered modern surgical techniques. "Fifteen or twenty years ago all abdominal surgeries were open procedures," said Dr. Cronk. "Now the majority of abdominal procedures we perform can be done through laparoscopy. This benefits our patients by reducing both pain and recovery time."

Surgery Group's professional team includes Board Certified surgeons Daniel Cronk, M.D., Steven Schneider, M.D., John Goering, M.D., and Brant Luebbe, M.D., as well as one nurse practitioner, four nurses, six clerical workers and an office manager.
